Thoughts from The New Kid In Town

by Andy Harris

Hey, it’s me.  The new guy in the morning at KELO-FM.  I’ve been here in Sioux Falls as a resident for 5 weeks now.  I’ve visited a good many times before, but now I have the perspective of actually living here.  So, I thought you might be interested in some random observations I have from my short time here.

Hy-Vee serves really good food in the restaurant part of their stores.  Baked chicken dinner … mmmm, good.

Single-digit and sub-zero temperatures: yes, I know it’s common, but in November?

Stampede Hockey: more fun than I expected.  The caliber of play was good & tough.  Very entertaining.

People are so much friendlier than in many other parts of the country.

I have an accent! Don’t know how THAT happened.  I didn’t have one where I came from!?

The Sioux Falls Roller Dollz: good family roller derby fun.  Glad I got to see their last bout of the season just after I got here.

All City Pet Care:  good place to take the family pet, as I found out.  Nice people, good care.

It’s easy to find your way around Sioux Falls.  I put the GPS away after only a couple of days.

There you have it … for now.  Life is good and I’m glad to be here.  Thanks for making me feel welcome.
