Americans have tripled the amount of cheese they eat in a year since the 1970's, weighing in at 23 pounds of cheese a year.
With an added amount of fats and oils in our daily diet on top of our heavy cheese habit daily calorie counts have soared to 2,535 a day.
Along with an increase in cheese, we're eating more sugars, flours and fats and we really need to cut down on our intake totals in order to stop being so obese. We also need to cut down on our red meat intake - though those numbers are down from where they were in the 1950's (thanks, vegetarians.)
