1966 Bat-mania toy craze continues

by Greg Belfrage

Holy nostalgia! The flood of new toys and products from the 1966 "Batman" television series shows no signs of slowing.  The recent release of dozens of toys, comics, t-shirts and memorabilia from the old Adam West television show nearly rivals the original Bat-mania of 1966.

Funko has produced a new Pop Heroes: Batmobile 1966 inspired by a highly popular blue Japanese tin Batmobile from 1972.  The Pop! Batmobile had its first public availability at the New York Comic Con. Click HERE to see the 1972 tin Batmobile.

Also available are Funko's bobbleheads based on the most popular characters from "Batman". Finally, fans are being treated to likenesses from the TV series that are faithful to the original characters. I was, however, disappointed to learn there's no there's no mustache on the Cesar Romero Joker. You could always see Romero's mustache on the show, no matter how much white pancake makeup they heaped on it.

Information on these and other Batman-themed toys are available on Funko's website.
