SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KWSN) - The Sioux Falls Storm and Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs are proud to announce that Terrance Bryant will be returning to the team as quarterback for the remainder of the 2013 season, starting this Sunday, April 7th against the Green Bay Blizzard.  After what has been a struggle on the offensive side of the ball for the first four games, Coach Riggs decided that veteran leadership and talent were going to be the team's best hope for a successful 2013 campaign.

Bryant retired from indoor football after the Storm's 2010 championship run which ended with a loss in Billings Montana.  He has been a resident of Sioux Falls working as a route manager for Pepsi Cola and continues to be active with football, working with area high school and college students as a coach with the Rigg's Premier Football Academy.

His number "5" currently hangs in the rafters of the "Storm Shelter" and will stay there.  Bryant will be wearing the #15.

A career with the Sioux Falls Storm spanning 6 six season, from 2005-2010, left many achievements in the record books... Here are a few:

  • 2,042 Pass Attempts
  • 1,337 Pass Completions (65.7% for career)
  • 13,508 Passing Yards
  • 259 Passing Touchdowns
  • 356 Rush Attempts
  • 794 Rushing Yards
  • 45 Rushing Touchdowns
  • 4 National Championship Wins
  • 2 back to back perfect seasons in 2006 and 2007
  • A 40 game win streak that spanned the 2005 season through 2008.  The longest win streak in professional sports.

"When evaluating our season to this point, we identified Leadership and the ability to throw the ball as two areas we had to address," said Storm Owner, Todd Tryon.  "Coach Riggs and I knew the answer was Terrance.  Terrance is in excellent shape and has been throwing the ball.  I expect Terrance to step right in and perform at a high level or we wouldn't make this move.  I was the one who pushed Terrance into retirement and now I am excited to provide the opportunity to pull him out of retirement."

"I am happy and humbled to be back with the Storm organization.  I intend to do whatever it takes to help lead this team, and the fans of Sioux Falls, to another championship." - Terrance Bryant, Quarterback

Tickets are now on sale for this weekend's home game against the Green Bay Blizzard.  Game time is Sunday, April 7th, at 3:05pm
