Plain White T's , the band that brought you hits like "Hey There Delilah" and "Rhythm of Love," has been out of the spotlight for a while, but now they're coming back in a big way: they'll release a new EP next week, and their guitarist is starring in a new NBC reality dating show.
The EP, called Should've Gone to Bed , features four tracks and arrives Tuesday: it's a preview of their upcoming fourth album that's due this fall. Meanwhile, guitarist Tim Lopez , who wrote and sang lead on "Rhythm of Love," is one of the stars of Ready for Love , NBC's new reality dating show, which will debut on Tuesday right after The Voice .
Ready for Love is sort of like The Bachelor, except it features three guys instead of one. In addition, all 36 eligible women were specially selected by expert matchmakers to be good matches for the guys. The show was co-created by actress Eva Longoria , who says of Tim and his two co-stars, "I interviewed hundreds of guys, and I handpicked these three myself...I would absolutely introduce them to my sister or my friends."
Tim, who got divorced five years ago, was open to doing the show because he's been lonely for a while: life on tour doesn't exactly lend itself to lasting relationships. "I'm not really the kind of guy who would do something like this," he says. "Part of it, I think, was overcoming that shyness, putting myself out there and taking some chances....believe me, it was a crazy experience."
We'll have to tune in to find out if Tim and his co-stars, financier Ben Patton and entrepreneur Ernesto Argüello , find the "Rhythm of Love" they've been looking for.
