Rod Stewart is going back to his roots: he'll play his first club date in years next Thursday, and you'll be able to watch it online.

Rod will rock the legendary Troubadour club in Los Angeles on April 25, and tickets will be given away free on Rod's Facebook page starting on Friday.  If you can't make it to L.A., don't worry: the gig will be available to watch on demand on Vevo and YouTube starting Saturday, April 27.  As part of the on-demand presentation, you'll also be able to see pre-show interviews and unseen footage.

Rod played at the Troubadour club early in his career, as did nearly every other major singer/songwriter who came up in the 1970s, from Bruce Springsteen and James Taylor , to Carole King , Elton John and The Eagles .

The gig is part of the countdown to the release of Rod's new album, Time , which is coming out May 7.
