(WNFL) - U-W Green Bay men's basketball guard Keifer Sykes was named this morning as the Horizon League player-of-the-week. Sykes, a junior, scored 20-or-more points in all three games the Phoenix played at the Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage. He had 23 points in a win over Pepperdine, a game-high 26 in a loss to Harvard, and 25 in a victory over Tulsa in which he surpassed a-thousand career points. This is the second time this season that Sykes was given the Horizon League's weekly honors. He shared the award with Steve McWhorter of U-W Milwaukee two weeks ago. Also, the Horizon League named Valparaiso guard Lexus Williams as the new Freshman-of-the-Week.
