Bruno Mars  is among the leading nominees for this year's  MTV Video Music Awards . He scored four nominations Wednesday, including in the Video of the Year category for "Locked Out of Heaven."  Taylor Swift is also a Video of the Year nominee, for "I Knew You Were Trouble."

"I Knew You Were Trouble" is also nominated for Female Video of the Year.  You'll recall Taylor won that category in 2009, the year Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech.  Taylor made light of that incident in a tweet to her fans: "If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time ;)."

Pink received three VMA nominations.

Justin Timberlake and rap duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead all artists, with six nods apiece.

Beginning today, you can vote in general VMA categories by visiting VMA.MTV.com. In addition, you can vote for Artist to Watch -- formerly Best New Artist -- by texting VOTE to 22444 or by visiting MTV's official Facebook page .

The MTV Video Music Awards will be presented August 25 in New York at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.  You can find the full list of nominees at MTV.com.
