Carly Rae Jepsen is set to receive another honor in her native Canada.
She has been named the 2013 recipient of the Allan Slaight Award , presented by Canada's Walk of Fame to young Canadians who are making "a positive impact in the fields of music, film, literature, visual or performing arts, sports, innovation or philanthropy." The award is named after a leading figure in the Canadian broadcasting industry.
Carly Rae, who hails from British Columbia, says in a statement, “I am proud to be Canadian and excited to be receiving this award."
She'll receive the honor at Canada's Walk of Fame awards show in Toronto on September 21.
