SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police found the man that triggered the canvass of a south central Sioux Falls neighborhood and put area schools into shelter-in-place this morning after a witness reported seeing a man walking with a rifle.
Officer Sam Clemens says a tip lead police to the man later this morning and it turned out he was carrying a pool cue carrier with a shoulder strap
Clemens says police received a call about a suspicious male near 38th and Phillips Avenue around eight. He says officers did not find him and they didn't know if he was doing anything illegal. He says the only other witness described a similar man carrying what they thought was a pool cue case.
Clemens says the man was in the area waiting for a friend this morning
Shelter-in-place for schools means doors to the building are locked but classes continue as usual.
