Twitter is abuzz with reaction to Angelina Jolie's dramatic announcement Tuesday that she underwent a double mastectomy as a breast cancer preventative measure.  One star who's happy about Jolie's decision to go public is breast cancer survivor Sheryl Crow.

Writing on Twitter, Sheryl says , "I commend Angelina Jolie for her courage and thoughtfulness in sharing her story today regarding her mastectomy. So brave!"  She added, "Ladies, please check out Angelina Jolie's story today, especially if you have breast cancer in your family history." Sheryl also retweeted a link to the piece in The New York Times that Angelina wrote revealing her decision.

Jolie chose to undergo the double mastectomy after learning that she's a carrier of the BRCA1 gene, which increases her chance of developing breast cancer to 87 percent.
