SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) Mayor Mike Huether will announce and recognize the 2013 Mayor’s Sioux Falls Beautiful Award recipients at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. The meeting will take place on November 12, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West Tenth Street.
Many places in Sioux Falls enhance the quality of life in the city, and many citizens lead our community in creating this beautification. To further honor such efforts, the Sioux Falls Beautiful Committee and the Mayor of Sioux Falls join each year to recognize significant accomplishments of one or several beautification projects in the city through the Mayor’s Sioux Falls Beautiful Awards Program.
Eleven nominations were received for the award in 2013: six residential category nominations, three nonresidential category nominations, and two community leader/organization category nominations.
The 2013 Mayor’s Sioux Falls Beautiful Award recipients are:
- Residential: Mary Selvig—312 East 19th Street
- Nonresidential—Public Space: Big Sioux River Greenway—Downtown (Steve Metli and Don Kearney)
- Community Beautification Leader/Organization: Pettigrew Heights Neighborhood Association
