SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - On the eve of the holiday season, the American Heart Association encourages you to remember to include heart-healthy foods in your celebrations.
The Association and the South Dakota Beef Industry Council are teaming for a cooking demonstration November 9th at Strawbale Winery.
Director of Media Relations for the Heart Association, Chrissy Meyer says don’t avoid red meat. Meyer says there is a misconception that you have to give up red meat and nothing could be further from the truth. She says you can eat red meat, you can enjoy beet. She says it may take some tweaking on preparation and the kind of cuts you're buying
Meyer says wine is also heart-healthy and there will be some samples available with the food.
The free cooking demonstration is tomorrow from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.at Strawbale just off I-29 near Renner.
