Grammy Award-winning artist Ricky Martin can now add children's book author to his resume.  His new book, Santiago the Dreamer in Land Among the Stars , is in stores now.

The 32-page, illustrated book tells the story of a boy who aspires to be a stage performer and whose father helps him build the confidence to fulfill his dreams.

Ricky says his own 5-year-old twin sons, Matteo and Valentino , inspired him to write the book.

"All of a sudden I became a daddy and I started receiving all this information from my kids. And instead of me giving them information, they're giving me information and I'm just writing it all down," he explained on  Tuesday's Live with Kelly and Michael .

Ricky also said his twins served as editors for the book, which will be the first in a five-book series set to be released over the next couple of years. "They are transparent. They are honest. They are real. And you know, they're not going to lie," Ricky said of his two tiny editors.

Still, the singer said Santiago the Dreamer isn't just for children. He also hopes it inspires their parents too. "Whoever is reading this book to the kids will receive an impact," he added.
