NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (KWSN)—South Dakota sophomore men’s golfer Alex Kline recorded his fourth consecutive top-five finish to lead the Coyotes at the UNO Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at ArborLinks Golf Club. The 54-hole event featured 48 golfers from eight teams.
Kline recorded a 3-under-par 69 during the second round en route to a fifth-place finish. Kline was in second place for much of Tuesday, but was 4-over on his final three holes to finish at 10-over. Kline had six birdies during the tournament and played the four par-5’s at 3-under-par.
Mark Geddes was 6-under through two rounds and ran away with medalist honors. He carded a 76 Tuesday to finish at 2-under-par. Teammate Hayden Webb finished in a tie for second with Omaha’s Karl Krieser at 7-over-par.
Grand Canyon, with the top two golfers, earned a 14-stroke victory against Omaha in the team race. The Antelopes finished at 31-over-par. North Dakota State was third at 61-over-par. South Dakota finished sixth at 76-over-par.
USD sophomore Miles Death (+15) and junior Anthony Dadamo (+18) competed individually, meaning they did not factor into the team scores, and placed 11th and 19th, respectively. Junior Samuel Matthew made it four Coyotes in the top 20. Matthew was 18th at 17-over-par.
