BURNSVILLE, Minn. (KWSN)- Paul Yak led all Division-II runners at the Chile Pepper Invite on Saturday and his 11th overall finish earned him his second consecutive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference athlete of the week.

Yak recorded a time of 24:44.4 to lead all Division II runners on the muddy, rain-soaked 8K course. Yak's performance also led the Vikings to a team win, their second consecutive, in the college division.

Yak finished ahead of 62 of the 70 Division I runners who scored for their team. Yak finished over 15 seconds ahead of the next-closest Division II runner.

Earning the honor for the second time this year, this is Yak's fifth NSIC athlete of the week honor in his career.

The Vikings will send a group of athletes to Mankato, Minn. for Caty's Run on Oct. 12 as they prepare to host the NSIC Championships on Oct. 26 at Yankton Trails Park.
