Pierre, SD (KELO AM) - Secretary of State Jason Gant will allow Independent Mike Meyers add Lora Hubbel to the ballot as his running mate. Gant made the announcement today from his office in Pierre and said the court ruling in favor of Meyers allows for his former running mate, Caitlin Collier, who removed herself for family medical reasons. Gant originally ruled against replacing Collier, saying there was no law that allowed for independents to change their mind about a running mate.
Gant also ruled in favor of adding Chad Haber to the ballot as a Libertarian party candidate against Marty Jackley in the Attorney General race. Haber is the husband of former U-S Senate candidate Annette Bosworth, who is facing election fraud charges brought down by Jackley. Bosworth has previously gone on the record stating she feels the charges are a personal vendetta being carried out against her by the Attorney General.
