One of the biggest things to look forward to in 2014 is Katy Perry 's upcoming Prismatic world tour, which gets underway May 7 in Ireland.  And the singer says that fans who attend will see a show that's unlike anything else any artist has done before.

Speaking to London's Capital FM , Katy said that the stage for the Prismatic tour is "unlike something that I've seen for any other artist and it's unlike anything I've ever done," adding that it's "different, it's fresh [and] it's clean."  What's more, Katy says of the stage, "It's actually in the middle of the audience, it feels like, so I get a lot of contact [with the fans]. I get to be close with them at all times."

Katy's California Dreams tour featured all kinds of costumes, lighting, dancers and fun special effects, and she says she's not skimping on that this time around either, but she'll just do it a bit differently.

"Of course I'll be flying around the arena, with other different fun things," she told Capital FM. "I'm going to bring all the bells and whistles like I did last time but it won't be so highly narrated."

Katy explains that last time, she thought her tour was "almost like a little bit of a Broadway production," which means that everything pretty was the same at every show,  no matter where she was performing.  "I just want a little bit more room to express myself," she says.

Before the tour begins, though, Katy's got a few opportunities to add to her trophy shelf. She's nominated for a number of People's Choice Awards, including Favorite Pop Artist; those will be handed out January 8.  On January 27, it's the Grammy Awards, where she's up for a couple more trophies, including Song of the Year.
