Washington, DC (KELO-AM) South Dakota's Senator John Thune (R) and Congresswoman Kristi Noem (R) are both calling on President Obama to approve the Keystone Pipeline following the release of the fifth environmental impact statement on the energy project.

The latest study says that the pipeline would not significantly increase pollution.

Noem says the President is running out of excuses. Thune says the jobs, investment and energy security the project will provide are clearly in the national interest.

Part of the pipeline would cross South Dakota. The project has many critics, including some tribal leaders in South Dakota..
