HURON, SD (KELO AM) – The South Dakota State Fair Foundation announced today that South Dakota Rural Electric Cooperatives along with Basin Electric, National Rural Utility Cooperative Finance Corporation (NRUCFC) and CoBank have given a $116,500 gift to the Capital Campaign for the building of a new exhibit hall on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.
“South Dakota’s electric cooperatives are proud to support the youth of our state and have a long standing tradition of working with the 4-H program. We are pleased to continue that tradition with our gift to the SD State Fair Foundation for construction of a new building on the State Fair Grounds,” commented Ed Anderson, general manager of SD Rural Electric Association.
“Support received from the South Dakota Rural Electric Cooperatives, Basin Electric, NRUCFC and CoBank proves the level of commitment these organizations have to South Dakota 4-H,” commented Jerome Hertel, SD State Fair director. “4-H members will have better experiences at the State Fair because of this gift.”
The Foundation has raised $2.52 million of the $4 million goal. Those interested in supporting the Capital Campaign should contact the State Fair office at 605.353.7340 or visit www.sdstatefairfoundation.com.
