Over the years, there have been countless fans who've dressed like Madonna , so when the Queen of Pop donned a costume over the weekend to transform herself into a Game of Thrones character, it made headlines. Now, the woman who plays that character is reacting to Madonna's tribute, calling it "absolutely incredible."
Madonna dressed as the character of Daenerys [duh-NAIR-ess] on HBO's Game of Thrones. Also known as "the Khaleesi," an honorary title which basically means "Queen," she's the tough surrogate mother to three fire-breathing dragons. On the red carpet at the premiere of season four of the hit HBO series Tuesday night in New York City, Emilia Clarke , who plays Daenerys, told reporters, "[It's] absolutely incredible...I mean, it's kind of beyond an honor. And I keep sort of being shocked and surprised at the same time, every time someone shows me a photo!"
Asked if she'd like the Game of Thrones producers to write Madonna into the show, Clarke added, "I hope so!"
Madonna's Mother of Dragons tribute was quite the talk of the Game of Thrones premiere, where dozens of cast members walked a red carpet, outside of which perched a giant dragon. Liam Cunningham, who plays smuggler-turned-knight Ser Davos on the show, joked, "Well, I was gonna come here dressed like Madonna, but they thought it wouldn't be a good idea, so I passed!"
