SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies successfully arrested Tyson Wessels yesterday evening outside of Tea, SD.
Deputies spotted Wessels on a suspected stolen motorcycle. After setting up a perimeter, he was taken into custody without incident. Wessels is a suspect in a multi-county crime spree that included a pursuit yesterday morning in Tea. During this pursuit, a Tea police car was rammed. Wessels was lodged at the Minnehaha County jail on Lincoln County charges of burglary 3rd, 2 counts of grand theft, and intentional damage to property.
Authorities say an investigation is ongoing as more charges are pending with Lincoln County Sherriff’s Department and other agencies. LCSO deputies were assisted on the scene during the arrest by South Dakota Highway Patrol, South Dakota Game Fish & Parks, and Tea Police Department.
The arrest was a collaborative effort among other counties, including Turner, Hutchinson, and Minnehaha.
