SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Every five years, Sioux Falls conducts a public survey to determine the size of the deer problem in the city.
It’s that time again says Animal Control Supervisor Julie DeJong.
“I’d encourage anybody who has some deer in their yards, or who hasn’t seen deer in their yards, but would like to comment, please just go ahead and get on the online survey and complete it. It shouldn’t take very much time at all.”

Nearly 1,000 people took the survey in 2014.
DeJong says survey results help her determine where the greatest deer concentrations are and how to best cull the populations.
Deer cause up to 150 traffic accidents each year in Sioux Falls.
