WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO.com) — Congressman Dusty Johnson voted “no” against the Democrats’ and President Donald Trumps’ proposal to increase stimulus aid to most Americans.
“When you give $2,000 to almost every American it cost $450 billion, our covid package only had $350 billion of new money the rest of it was used from the CARES ACT,” the congressman told KELO radios’, Bill Zortman.
Dusty’s vote fell short at the time as the House still passed the measure and was awaiting approval by the Senate.
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would later reject the push to increase the $600 checks planned to be received by Americans.
Wednesday McConnell would also vote “no” for the House to consider a speedy decision on the proposed increase, stating that there was no realistic path for the House bill to quickly pass the Senate.
