MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO.com) — A 21-year-old woman was seriously injured in a Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-90 just east of Mitchell.
The woman was driving a 1998 Honda CR-V LX eastbound at mile marker 344 just east of the Alexandria exit just before 2:30 p.m. when she drifted into the south shoulder with both passenger-side tires in the ditch.
She overcorrected, and the vehicle went across both eastbound lanes, into the median, and rolled.
The driver, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle, had to be extricated and was taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
She was wearing a seat belt.
No charges are pending in the accident.
