SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The names have been released of the three people who died Thursday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash in Sioux Falls.
They have been identified as the male driver, 22-year-old Sean Morck of Sioux Falls, and the female passengers, 18-year-old Breanne Gaffin of Worthing, and 16-year-old Kali Johnson of Canton.
Preliminary information indicates that a 2010 Mazda3 was northbound on Interstate 229 when it left the roadway to the right, hit a tree, and caught on fire. All three occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Seat belt use is under investigation.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation. All information is preliminary at this time.
The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
