SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) – The South Dakota House’s Select Committee on Investigation will begin two days of meetings on Tuesday.
The committee is reviewing evidence to determine if Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg should be impeached because of his role in a fatal traffic accident last year.
The 9 member committee will prepare a report for the full House detailing their recommendation on impeachment.
Much of the two days will be spent in executive session consulting with the committee’s legal counsel.
House Majority Leader Kent Peterson told KELO radio’s Bill Zortman that while many people in the state wish the process would go faster, Peterson says it’s important that the legislature do their due diligence and have all the appropriate information going forward.
