SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced a proposal on Thursday that could send stimulus checks to 2.7 million households throughout Minnesota.
Walz says that a surplus in the state’s budget will allow for up to $700 million to be paid directly to Minnesotans through the so-called “Walz checks”.
The proposal would give single households $175, and joint households $350 in “Walz check” payments.
The governor plans to announce two more economic stimulus packages in the coming days.
