Fire department warns homeowners to check gas meters

MADISON, S.D. (KELO.com) — Following 2 house explosions in the last month, the Madison Fire Department is warning homeowners to check their gas meters for excessive snow coverage. The fire department says if the meter is covered in snow, the house is not safe to occupy. They also advise checking on elderly neighbors and others who may not be able to remove the snow.
