Now that warmer temps are here – it’s important we remember to make sure our dogs are hydrated. Besides water, there are other options (and some fun recipes!) you might want to try.
For starters: In addition to water, if you need to give your dog an electrolyte boost, there’s DOGGYRADE (it’s like Gatorade for dogs!). You can see that it’s convenient, easy to pack and chicken flavored.
In addition, here are some hydrating pet-safe human foods: cantaloupes, cucumbers, oranges, strawberries, carrots and celery.
For a frozen treat, you can find doggy ice cream in grocery stores *usually* in the same freezer where you get your favorite treat. (HERE is one option).Believe it or not, Ben & Jerry’s has a dog-safe ice cream too!
Finally, I found a few simple pupsicle – frozen dog treat recipes, which you can make and put in the freezer. (Find them HERE)
Kirby and Milly (our mini long haired dachshunds) love the strawberry option best! As you can see, they are easy to make 🙂
FROZEN STRAWBERRY YOGURT DOG TREATS
– Strawberries (4 to 6)
– 2 oz. Water
– 2 oz. Yogurt
Blend and pour into mold and freeze. If you don’t have a cute dog-themed silicone mold, ice cube trays work well too! HERE are the silicone molds we use.
XO,
Ryan
