Successful anti pan-handling campaign will return to Sioux Falls in the Spring

Sioux Falls, SD (KELO.com) — Giving cash doesn’t help but you can. That’s the core of the successful anti-panhandling campaign conducted by the city of Sioux Falls this year. It’s an encouragement for people to give to the agencies that deal with homelessness in the city, instead of giving directly to panhandlers on the streets. Homelessness Services Coordinator Michelle Treasure says the campaign was born out of some tragic observations. The good news is, the campaign worked, cutting panhandling drastically this year. It worked so well the city will bring it back again next spring.
