South Dakota lawmakers met with state law enforcement this week to discuss programming at the state penitentiary. The Correctional Rehabilitation Task Force asked for input, and suggestions varied. One suggested allowing inmates to get a degree through a nonprofit and another offered a continuance of the welding collaboration with Southeast Tech. The goal of the task force is to help prepare inmates for their life post-incarceration.
