SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Police are investigating another machete attack and put a man behind bars for slashing his girlfriend.
Sioux Falls Police say it is unusual to have people attacked with machetes, but Sioux Falls has seen at least two such attacks this week.
In an incident last night, a man was knocking on a trailer door and windows where he thought a relative lived.
There was no response.
The man when to a gas station in the 4200 block of West 12th Street.
A man who owns the trailer found the knocking guy, blocked him in with his car, and pulled out a machete.
The new machete attacker is at large.
No one was injured.
A Sioux Falls man is in custody after slashing his girlfriend with a large knife then not letting her go to the hospital.
The incident occurred early this morning (Friday) in the 700 block of North Omaha Avenue.
The police arrested and charge Matthew Bernard Weldon, 34, on charges of aggravated assault domestic, false imprisonment, and marijuana.
The woman, 52, went to the hospital with a 4-inch-long by 1-inch deep knife wood she got from defending herself.
