SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police are investigating a mid-morning Thursday fatal traffic accident.
Around 10:50 a.m., police say a 2006 Toyota Highlander was traveling east on East 57th Street near Six Mile Road.
About 1/4 mile east of the intersection, the Toyota struck a tree.
The driver, a 40-year-old Sioux Falls man, died.
Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt and speed was a factor.
The authorities did not release the victim’s name pending notification of relatives.
This morning, the SFPD UAS Team used a drone near 57th St and Six Mile Road to map and investigate a fatal accident. It is our policy to notify the public whenever our aircraft are flown. /713
