PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Since the report last week, coronavirus cases in South Dakota have doubled.
That’s according to the South Dakota Department of Health.
The department reports 1,149 active cases Wednesday compared to 657 cases last week.
Hospitalizations are also up.
Last week they were at 39, now they are at 75.
New cases increased from 376 last week to 862 cases Wednesday.
One person has died since last week from COVID-19.
The death toll is now 2,051.
The health department now reports statistics on a weekly instead of daily basis.
