SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem died Friday, January 28 at a Bismarck hospital.
North Dakota’s Office of the Attorney General announced the death of Stenehjem in a statement on Friday.
“It is with the utmost sadness that the Office of Attorney General announces that Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem passed away unexpectedly,” the office said. “We know Wayne was a widely respected and well-known public figure, but we ask that his family be allowed time to grieve in private.”
Stenehjem was rushed to a local hospital Friday morning after being found unconscious by a contractor who came by Stenehjem’s house to do some work.
He died at the hospital later in the day.
Stenehejm was 68.
