– The Minnesota Vikings have conducted their second interview with New York Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. They have one more head coach candidate to visit with: Jim Harbaugh. Graham spent Tuesday at team headquarters. He had an initial interview Saturday over videoconference. Graham has also carried the assistant head coach title with the Giants. He finished his second season with the team and his 13th year as an NFL assistant. Harbaugh has been the head coach at Michigan for the last seven seasons and is scheduled to visit the Vikings on Wednesday.
– Sioux Falls Jefferson boys basketball scored a big road win last night. The fourth-ranked Cavaliers topped third-ranked Mitchell at the Corn Palace 54-45. Taylen Ashley led Jefferson with 20 points. In other boys’ games, top-ranked Roosevelt blew out Huron 72-39, fifth-ranked Lincoln beat Watertown 58-45, Washington handled Brookings 62-33, and Sioux Falls Christian topped Canton 52-48. In girls’ action, second-ranked Washington moved to 12-1 with a 61-40 win over Brookings, Lincoln beat Watertown 53-44, and Jefferson lost to Mitchell 46-40. We have all the scores at KWSN.com.
– The Minnesota Timberwolves bench led the way in a 130-115 win over the Denver Nuggets last night. Jarred Vanderbilt had 18 points against his former team, and Taurean Prince scored 23 points for Minnesota. Karl-Anthony Towns added 24 points and 10 rebounds for Minnesota. The Timberwolves have won two games in a row and 10 of their past 15.
– Iowa State men’s basketball lost to Kansas last night, 70-61. Izaiah Brockington led the Cyclones with 24 points. Kansas won despite not having player of the year contender Ochai Agbaji because of COVID protocols.
– Nebraska men’s basketball lost a tight one to Michigan last night, 85-79. The Wolverines scored the last six points of the game over the final 1:20. Bryce McGowens scored 24 points for Nebraska, who are 6-16 on the year and 0-11 in the Big Ten.
– The U.S. men’s national soccer team is playing in St. Paul tonight. Kickoff temperature will be about 5 degrees, the lowest ever for a U.S. home game.
