SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Wednesday is Groundhog Day.
But like the movie of the same name, when it comes to unlocked cars, every day is Groundhog Day for the Sioux Falls Police.
So on Groundhog Day, they posted a meme from “Groundhog Day,” the movie, with Bill Murray and a groundhog.
It says, “Don’t leave your vehicle unlocked, with the keys inside. It may get stolen.”
SFPD also included a message with the meme:
Did you know that a majority of stolen vehicle thefts occur involving unlocked vehicles, with keys left inside, or unlocked vehicles left running and unattended. Protect your property, lock your car, and take your keys (and guns) inside.
And of course this being 2022, some commenters didn’t like the police reminding us all to lock our cars and take our keys.
