SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Bishop Daniel DeGrood has re-instituted the obligation to attend Sunday mass for most Catholics in the sprawling Diocese.
“I am lifting the dispensation for everybody who is healthy, but keeping in place the dispensation for all of those the CDC identifies as at risk.”
Sioux Falls may be the first diocese in the country to do this.
The obligation was suspended because of COVID-19 concerns, but Bishop DeGrood says the Diocese has been “blessed” with relatively few cases, so it’s time to get back to worship.
“I’m inviting you, asking you, encouraging everyone who is healthy to return to weekly Sunday mass.
The Sioux Falls Diocese covers all Catholic parishes in East River South Dakota.
