SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — As the state of South Dakota emerges as a hot spot in the country for the Coronavirus, Governor Kristi Noem is using $5 million in federal coronavirus relief funds for a tourism ad campaign.
The campaign is aimed at bringing more people into the state.
In the ad the governor says “with our breathtaking landscapes and wide-open spaces, we’re a place to safely explore.”
The daily average for South Dakota is 256 new cases over the last two weeks, an increase of 68%.
South Dakota is currently the second-highest in the country for new cases per capita trailing behind North Dakota.
