SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Street construction update:
Lane Closure – 41st Street
Beginning on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, the outer most eastbound lane of West 41st Street will be closed at Shirley Avenue to allow construction crews to pave the newly constructed turn lane.
This work is anticipated to be complete by Wednesday afternoon.
This work will be completed by Lloyd Companies in conjunction with the redevelopment of the property adjacent to 41st Street. Drivers are encouraged to utilize other mall entrances to visit the Empire Mall.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Sidewalk Closure – Phillips Avenue
Beginning on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, a portion of the sidewalk will be closed between West 11th Street and West 12th Street on the west side of Phillips Avenue to allow construction crews to perform concrete sidewalk repairs.
The west half of the west sidewalk will remain open to pedestrian traffic whenever possible. However, pedestrians are encouraged to use the sidewalk on the east side of Phillips Avenue during construction. The southbound pedestrian ramp on the northeast corner of 12th Street and Phillips Avenue will also be closed for repairs. Pedestrian traffic will be diverted around the work area to the east side of Phillips Avenue. The repair work will not impede vehicle traffic, however, will close five parking stalls during construction.
Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week.

Street Closure – 13th Street
Beginning after the morning commute on Thursday, October 1, 2020, West 13th Street will be closed between Minnesota Avenue and Dakota Avenue. Local traffic will still be able to access businesses on 13th Street from Minnesota Avenue.
Barnhart Crane will be placing equipment on the First Premier building.
This work is anticipated to be complete by noon on Thursday, October 1, 2020.
