SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police are crediting the city’s Traffic Cam system for the arrest of several prison parolees over the past several days. Two people from Pennington County were arrested Saturday, a Wolsey woman was arrested Monday, and two Sioux Falls men were arrested Thursday. All five were accused of driving stolen vehicles, along with possessing methamphetamines and violating parole.
Traffic Cams also helped police make an arrest in a recent Crime of the Week. A business at West 9th and Dakota was burglarized late last month. Property Crimes Sergeant Jake Harris says a pickup that was seen on surveillance video was spotted by the Traffic Cams. He says they were tracked to the area of 57th and Cliff Avenue, “Investigators began canvassing the area and located the suspect’s vehicle in the driveway of a residence near 54th and Cliff. Investigators obtained a Search Warrant for that specific residence, and located numerous items that had been stolen from the victim business inside the residence.”
In that case, 22-year old Dillon Brown was arrested for possession of stolen property.
