Referendum to challenge property tax cut fails

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — A challenge to the legislature’s property tax relief plan has fallen short in an effort to place the plan on this November’s ballot.  The ‘South Dakotans for Fair Taxes’ coalition circulated petitions, calling the plan unfair to those who don’t own homes, and a give-away to the rich at the expense of working class poor families.
