Sioux Falls City Council
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to increase fees, but the move isn’t expected to affect many local residents. The fees in question are for requests for public information from commercial companies for private commercial use – most of them from out of state. City Finance Director Shawn Pritchett says those requests are on the rise, and take up a lot of employee time at taxpayers’ expense. “We’re looking to having adequate compensation when we have these public records requests come in.” Requests from the news media, educational and scientific institutions, and those made for personal use would not be affected.
