SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Law enforcement teamwork took nearly three dozen dangerous criminals off the streets of Sioux Falls this past week. City, state and Federal law enforcement officials say ‘Operation Repeat Offender Project’ was a surgical strike to arrest fugitives and parole absconders. U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons said, “This joint operation successfully and safely removed 35 dangerous fugitives and violent offenders with active arrest warrants from our community, and returned them to where they belong – which is behind bars.”
New U-S Marshal Dan Satterlee says the arrests came off without a hitch because of cooperation and careful planning between city, state and federal law agencies. “That’s almost unheard of in an operation this big with these types of folks…who are known for not cooperating.” Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum says he’s extremely proud of the combined effort.
