This November, your next haircut can help make a difference for children and families right here in our region!
Throughout November, MJ Capelli is teaming up with Sanford Children’s. A portion of every haircut sold at all three MJ Capelli locations will go toward supporting Sanford Children’s. That includes men’s, women’s and children’s haircuts!
But where does that money go and what does it help provide?
Helping Little Patients and Their Families
Sanford Children’s cares for children from across our region, from the tiniest newborns who can fit in the palm of your hand to teenagers who are nearly adult-sized.
One of the things your support helps provide is specialized equipment and technology including the beds used in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Here’s a fun fact: Since Sanford Children’s moved into its new facility, the NICU has been able to offer individual rooms where families can stay overnight with their babies. That means parents can be right there with their little ones during an incredibly important time.
And just to give you an idea of how tiny some of these patients are, a NICU diaper is incredibly small!
More Than Medical Care
Taking care of a hospitalized child means caring for the whole family, too. Sanford Children’s provides several important services and programs at no cost to families, including:
- Child Life Specialists:Helping children understand and cope with their hospital experience.
- Hospital Teacher: Helping children keep up with their education while hospitalized.
- Music Therapy: Using music to support children during their care.
- School Re-Entry: Helping children transition back to school after a hospital stay.
- Fox the Facility Dog: Bringing comfort and smiles to children and families.
Sanford Children’s also provides lifesaving medical equipment and state-of-the-art technology to help care for children of all ages and sizes.
