A Prairie Christmas is a radio program hosted by Jeff Gould, known as America’s Storyteller, which features inspirational, heartwarming stories of Christmas combined with traditional holiday music. The program has been a holiday tradition on KELO-FM in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, airing daily from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm during the holiday season. Originally titled “Holiday Inn,” the show was first launched in the mid-1940s by Ray Loftesness and has since evolved into a beloved holiday staple. Jeff Gould has hosted the program for 25 years, emphasizing storytelling as a way to reflect on faith, hope, love, and nostalgia. Additionally, the program has been adapted into a live stage performance titled “A Prairie Christmas-On Stage,” which features stories, music, and interactive elements. A collection of stories from the radio show is also available as an audiobook titled The Uncommon Christmas: Tales from A Prairie Christmas, narrated by Jeff Gould.

Using stories gathered during decades of helping families through some of the toughest times of their lives, Jeff speaks with honesty, wit, and wisdom.

Originally from the Twin Cities, Jeff is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and Brown Institute. His hobbies include fixing up a 130-year-old house, woodworking, reading, and spending time with his wife, Libby, and their four grown daughters.
