Here are a couple of the highlights from the police files.
BANK ROBBER UNSUCCESSFUL IN LETTING THE WIND TAKE HIS LOOT
Sioux Falls Police apprehend a robber not long after the man acted like he had a weapon and robbed the Wells Fargo bank on North Cliff Avenue Saturday morning.
Police say Phillip Christopher Hanten, 40, from Johnson, Iowa, walked into the bank wearing a note and gave a note to the teller demanding cash.
The teller complied and Hanten walked out of the bank and then to Falls Park.
Police had a description of Hanten and spotted him in the park.
Hanten tried to get rid of the money by tossing it in the air.
The wind didn’t cooperate.
Police recovered all the money and Hanten faces first-degree robbery charges.
