PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Election history was made in South Dakota Tuesday as votes were cast in the state’s first runoff election for the Governor’s office. Thousands of people registered to vote in the Republican Primary between Larry Rhoden and Toby Doeden, many of them Democrats wanting to play a role in the decision. In-person voting today is a bit slower than it as during the June 2nd primary election, but Minnehaha County Auditor Leah Anderson says many voted absentee. The winner will face Democrat Dan Ahlers in the November election.
