SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – Sioux Falls Mayor Christine Erickson says things are going well through her one month as mayor.
She provided an update on her tenure on Wednesday, saying that most of her focus has been on the 2027 city budget.
Her $794 million budget proposal calls for a focus on the three main components of public safety, infrastructure and maintaining quality of life.
Erickson also discussed data centers, saying she would rather open up discussions about the facilities than put guardrails in place to shut down business development.
She added that Sioux Falls might not be the best place for data centers, but the city should be making investments in the community.
